Paul Izlar is an Advisory Director. He enjoys the rigors and rewards of the global capital markets and the different investment strategies available in those markets. Notwithstanding, his primary attraction is making money for our clients. Paul believes that Edge has built a top quality team that is performance driven and long-term in thinking. Paul credits Warren Buffett, another long-term thinker, for this guidance on value creation, “Lessons for small business owners – This one is pretty easy. Don’t be a jerk. Take care of the people around you. And use your success to help others.”
Prior to starting Edge, Paul served in senior management roles with Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. He attended the University of Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and was a student of the Dalai Lama. He also played in several homecoming games in the Southeast Conference, Southwest Conference, and Atlantic Coast Conference as a running back for the Cavaliers’ football team. Paul remains actively involved with the University of Virginia as a fundraiser and volunteer for the Jefferson Scholars Foundation, an organization that provides full four-year scholarships for the top students in the country. He serves on the Investment Committee for Westminster Schools in Atlanta and is a member of the Board of Trustees and Investment and Finance Committees for the Schenck School, which focuses on educating students with learning challenges. In his free time, Paul enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf.
